Join us Friday January 10th as we host our first Artist Showcase of 2020! Our featured artist for the month is Allie Ellis.
When asking Allie how she got into art it came to light that there wasn’t a short answer. She has always had art in her life but not just drawing or painting. Allie can play 6 instruments, builds jewelry, has worked as a professional photographer and is now creating collage art to add to the list. Having lived everywhere from Upstate New York, Spain, Chicago and lots of other places calling Dayton home is a new venture for her. Working at the Xenia Library is what brought her to our neighborhood where she finds herself binding books and doing freelance photography in her free time.
This showcase of collages shows her love for 50’s and 60’s pop art while dialing in on a “minimalism not maximism” point of view. Combining meat and feminism is just one great example of the creative mind that is known as Allie Ellis. Her art is available for purchase and will be on display for the entire month. So come on in Friday for art and a beer as we celebrate Allie and her work here at Branch and Bone!
